So I had been talking about this game in the Discord group and thought I'd post it here as a reference as well (namely regarding setup)

Lord Monarch is a quirky strategy game by Falcom that received a freeware Windows version in 1997. This version is noteworthy not only for being 100% free and still available for download from Falcom's site, but also being the only version of the game to have an official English localisation. If you're into retro Japanese PC games it's definitely a hidden gem worth a look!

Despite being designed for Windows 95 it still works perfectly on my laptop running Windows 10.

IMPORTANT: Before playing, make sure to create a folder in the folder the game's stored in called "SAVE". If you don't do this you won't be able to save your progress and high scores in Quest Mode.

Just finished stage 2. It's more fun than I thought it'd be, mainly because I'm not into these kind of games usually, but this is a very simple strategy game that feels rewarding. Definitely recommend downloading it just for funsies!

I've just discovered that Vantage Master V2 is also available for free and in English on Falcom's website too. I haven't tested it too thoroughly but it seems to work fine on Windows 10 as well. Only drawback is that it only has the MIDI soundtrack as opposed to the CD audio.
