It's a shame Japanese music is becoming a lot more popular, it's great stuff but at the same time in a weird location of being niche to normal people and seen as entry level and subpar to people who actually are elitist music peeps. It's just annoying because I never really cared for music and once I found the genre that I really enjoyed and try to discuss it I either get blank faces or disgusted faces. It also doesn't help when Plastic Love is being pushed everywhere and getting the wrong kind of people into this, kinda brings the whole "look" of the fans down.

But hey, that's just my two cents. Not like I'm going to stop listening to this stuff because it's popular or it's seen as bad.

Have some one somewhat niche albums from that genre.

Yuji Toriyama & Ken Morimura - Aerobics (Funnily enough, this quite possibly could be an album made specifically for aerobatics over just being an album to listen to, or possibly copying the aesthetic of the aerobatic music of the time. I'm still not sure myself, but enjoy it nonetheless)

...oh, well it seems like all the niche albums I have on my computer for this genre can't be found on Youtube, sorry about that. Still, check my post in the Music sticky for some others, I know I posted some more mainstream stuff there.

I grew up with this CD at a young age, which introduced me to the wonderful world of Japanese music.

Here’s three of my many favourites from that fantastic compilation.
First up, a mellow song with a lovely bassline.
Next one takes until 1:20 to build up, but when it does, you’re hit with a landslide of funk.
Finally, a rather calming tune - the bassist is the true star here, listen up for it and prepare to be amazed by his skill level.

To cap it all off, here’s a brilliant mixtape of Japanese music I found on YouTube to enjoy. That first song is a riot!

Post music from TV shows

And no, shows based on games don't count, or else every page on this thread would be me saying how good the Sonic X theme is.
For starters, you haven't heard any rap until you've heard my boi Billy.
